Ornella Urso is a research analyst for IDC Retail Insights Europe. She contributes to the Worldwide Customer Experience and Commerce strategies program and to European retail Dx research. Her research activity focuses on retail customer experience personalization, retail commerce platforms and European retail Dx strategies across segments and countries.
Prior to joining IDC, Urso worked at the University of Siena as a research analyst. She has more than 5 years’ experience in various research fields, developing qualitative and quantitative research methods, primary research expertise and delivering clients’ workshops. Urso has been involved in European research projects commissioned by European agencies such as EASO (European Asylum Support Office), and developed in collaboration with international teams. She delivered several presentations at international conferences and seminars while contributing to research dissemination.
Her passion for consumer trends and digital technologies to deliver better customer experiences makes her a great addition to the team.
Urso has a PhD in political science from the Scuola Normale Superiore — the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences in Florence, an MA in global politics and Euro-Mediterranean relations (from the University of Catania), and a BA in politics and international relations (also from the University of Catania).
