George Mironescu has over 15 years of experience in the software and IT services industry. He leads the cloud platform research across Europe, where he provides insights and advice around topics such as end-user investments, buying behavior and client attitudes, vendor market movements, portfolio positioning, product development strategies, and ecosystem affiliation. His research coverage is at the intersection of software and IT services and spans broad domains, including cloud-related application development, cloud data life-cycle, and cloud integration.
Mironescu's research explores how enterprises are rethinking their IT in the age of cloud and evolving their business/IT models and IT assets, their strategic application development sourcing strategies, and their skills base. That includes looking at application transformation initiatives, replatforming efforts, and the evolving relevance and roles of developers and IT operations professionals.
Mironescu joined IDC from Pierre Audoin Consultants (PAC), where he built up expertise in analyzing key IT domains such as IT consulting, systems integration, outsourcing, and enterprise application software. In his roles at PAC, he led consulting projects in diverse areas including cloud vendor mapping and positioning, regionalization and verticalization strategy, target acquisition search, and end-user and sourcing partner profiling.
Mironescu has a bachelor's degree in marketing strategy from the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies.
